A guide, not a quote. Tray sizes come from our menu, so the mix rounds up to whole trays.
The maths behind it.
We start from 2 pieces per guest, which is what our packages are based on, then adjust:
- +1 piece if the dessert table replaces the pudding course or is the main food
- +½ piece for a birthday or party crowd
- +½ piece for events over five hours, and −½ for short ones
- +½ piece if your guests have a sweet tooth
Variety scales with your numbers: about 3–4 desserts for 50 guests, 5–6 for 100 and 7–8 for 150. Then we fill whole trays from our menu (brownies and blondies come 32 to a tray, cupcakes 24 to a batch, NYC cookies 16), topping up whichever dessert is furthest below its share.

Dessert quantity questions.
How many desserts per person for a dessert table?
Plan on 2 pieces per guest when other food is being served, and around 3 when the dessert table is the dessert course or the main food. Longer events and sweet-toothed crowds may want a little more.
How many different desserts should a dessert table have?
Around 3–4 types for up to 50 guests, 5–6 for up to 100 and 7–8 for 150. More variety looks abundant and means everyone finds a favourite.
How many dessert pieces for 100 guests?
About 200 pieces if there's other food, or around 300 if the desserts are the main event.
How many cupcakes for 100 guests?
If cupcakes are one of six desserts on a table, one batch of 24 to 48 is usually enough. If cupcakes are the only dessert, allow at least one per guest plus a few spare.
